Subject: Ensuring Timely EOD and HISCOD operations in light of same day account implementation

Respected Madam/Sir,

As you are aware, with the implementation of CSI 2.0, the Same Day Accounting of transactions has commenced .

2. The successful implementation of the Same Day Accounting system necessitates the prompt execution of HISCOD by Post Offices and HSCOD by Circle CPCs to ensure timely completion of End of Day (EOD) operations. However, it has been observed that there was delay in execution of HSCOD leading to lag in EOD operations on June 30th’ 2025, due to the bulk submission of Recurring Deposit (RD) LOTs by MPKBY agents on the very last day .

3. Further, it has also come to our attention that CPCs are initiating HSCOD executions only after 3:00 PM. This practice, involving large parallel submissions, adds considerable load to the CBS system, particularly when coupled with the bulk RD deposits, prevalent at fortnight and month ends. The substantial time needed to process and verify these high-volume RD lists directly impedes timely completion of HSCOD and consequently leads to EOD delays.

4. Therefore, it is requested that SSPOs/SPOs should be immediately directed to analyse the situation in their Division and instruct Postmasters/Sub-Postmasters under their jurisdiction to ensure MPKBY agents to submit RD LOTs in a staggered manner throughout the fortnight/month, rather than submitting the entire list on the last two days. For example, for RD Accounts opened between 1st to 7th and 8th to 15th of a month, LOTs should be submitted by 7th/8th and 14th/15th of the fortnight respectively and so on . The Circle CPCs should closely monitor HISCOD submissions from Post Offices daily and execute the HSCOD command in a staggered manner to avoid last-minute bulk executions.

5. Hence it is again requested to ensure that Postmasters completes the daily End of Day (EOD) for HISCOD promptly and instructs MPKBY agents to submit RD LOTs in a staggered manner. Also, the CPC In-charge should execute HSCOD immediately to prevent overloading the CBS system. This will help in avoiding last-minute rush and operational issues caused by large volumes of RD bulk lists arriving during the final two days of each fortnight.

6. Henceforth, the concerned Circle shall be responsible for ensuring that there is no delay in EOD due to posting of such bulk RD LOTs.

7. This issues with approval of competent authority.

Yours faithfully,
