Key Directive:

It has been decided that no expenditure shall be incurred on gifts and related items for Diwali and other festivals by Ministries/Departments and other organs of the Government of India. This is to promote fiscal discipline and prudent use of public resources.

Approval and Effective Date:

The directive is issued with the approval of the Secretary (Expenditure) and comes into force immediately.
