    OFFICE MEMORANDUM

    Subject: Regarding amendment of the International Tracked Packet Service (ITPS) tariff for Australia and notification of ITPS tariffs for an additional 50 countries, over and above the 85 countries presently served by Department of Posts.

    The undersigned is directed to enclosed herewith Gazette Notification S.O. 6154 (E) dated 31st December, 2025, as the Competent Authority has approved the amendment of the International Tracked Packet Service (ITPS) tariff for Australia and the extension of ITPS to an additional 50 countries, over and above the 85 countries presently served by Department of Posts.

    The revised ITPS tariff for Australia, along with the list of newly added ITPS destination countries and their respective permissible weight limits, is enclosed as Annexure ‘A’.

    It is also informed that the maximum permissible weight limit for the United States of America under the ITPS mail category has also been increased from 2 kg to 5 kg.

    It is further informed that the Registered Small Packet Service has been discontinued with effect from 1st January, 2026, along with Ordinary Small Packets and Letter Mail Services through Surface and SAL. Registration services shall henceforth be available only for documents.

    In view of the above, ITPS shall serve as the alternative service for transmission of non-document items, offering better tracking, reliability, and delivery timelines.

    All Circles, FPOs and OEs are requested to ensure operational readiness, sensitisation of staff, and wide publicity of ITPS among customers.

    GM, CEPT is requested to take necessary action to update the revised ITPS tariff for Australia and the expanded list of ITPS-served countries in the systems, as per Annexure ‘A’.
