Subject: Release of an additional installment of Dearness Relief (DR) to Central Government Pensioners/Family Pensioners – Revised rate with effect from 01st January, 2026.
The President is pleased to decide that the Dearness Relief (DR) payable to Central Government Pensioners/Family Pensioners shall be enhanced from the existing rate of 58% to 60% of the basic pension/family pension (including additional pension) with effect from 01st January, 2026.
This rate of DR shall be applicable to the following categories:
- Civilian Central Government Pensioners
- Armed Forces Pensioners
- All India Service Pensioners
- Railway Pensioners
- Pensioners drawing pension under the Central Civil Services (Extraordinary Pension) Rules, 1939
- Pensioners drawing family pension under the Central Civil Services (Pension) Rules, 2021
- Payment of Dearness Relief involving a fraction of a rupee shall be rounded off to the next higher rupee.
- The offices of Accountant General and authorized Pension Disbursing Banks are directed to arrange payment of Dearness Relief to pensioners/family pensioners without waiting for further instructions.
