Subject: Mandatory Marking of IN and OUT Attendance by Branch Postmasters (BPMs) through Facial Recognition-Based Attendance System on DARPAN devices.

Madam/Sir,

It has been observed that in some Branch Offices, BPMs are marking only their IN attendance and not their OUT attendance through the Facial Recognition-Based Attendance System on DARPAN devices, resulting in incomplete attendance records.

All Circles are requested to ensure, through the concerned Divisional Heads and Sub-Divisional Heads (SDHs), that:

(i) Every GDS working as BPM in BO shall mandatorily mark both IN Attendance and OUT Attendance through the Facial Recognition-Based Attendance System on the DARPAN (MDM) device only as per the working hours (opening and closing time) of the BO.

(ii) SDH shall regularly monitor the attendance-marking process. The daily attendance report will be shared with SDH, and BPM will ensure that attendance is recorded only through the MDM device provided by the IPPB. Any attendance marked other than the MDM device may be examined by the concerned SDH.

(iii) In cases where any BPM encounters technical or operational issues in marking attendance, the matter shall be immediately reported to the concerned SDH and Divisional Head for prompt resolution.

(iv) Divisional Heads shall ensure strict compliance with the attendance marking by the GDS-BPM.

All Circles are requested to ensure strict compliance with the above instructions and monitor implementation at all levels.
