India Post Resumes International Mail Services to 39 Countries; Services to 10 Destinations Remain Suspended

Resumption of International Mail Services to Certain Countries – Public Notice (22.07.2026)

The Department of Posts has announced the resumption of international postal services to certain countries that were previously suspended due to the force majeure situation in the Middle East and the resulting disruption of air connectivity.

Key Highlights

• Alternative transit arrangements have been established and the situation has improved.
• Postal services to the countries listed in Annexure-A have been resumed with immediate effect.
• Customers may still experience delays beyond normal service standards.
• Postal services to countries listed in Annexure-B will continue to remain suspended until further notice due to ongoing geopolitical issues and lack of suitable air/transit arrangements.
• Customers who booked articles for Annexure-B countries that have not yet been dispatched from India may:
  • Recall their articles through a written request to the booking post office.
  • Claim a refund of postage charges.
• The Department of Posts is continuously monitoring the situation and services will be restored as soon as suitable arrangements become available.
