GDS Online Engagement Schedule–II (July 2026): Preparatory Exercise

Overview

The Department of Posts has initiated preparatory activities for GDS Online Engagement Schedule–II, July 2026, following the completion of Schedule-I (January 2026) on 22 July 2026. Circles, Divisions, and CEPT have been instructed to complete the required activities within prescribed timelines.

Vacancies to be Included

The following vacancies as on 30.06.2026 are to be notified:

• Vacancies arising from resignation, transfer, discharge, voluntary discharge, promotion, termination/removal, dismissal, and long-term deputation (more than six months) to IPPB or APS during the period 01.01.2026 to 30.06.2026.
• Unfilled vacancies from GDS Online Engagement Schedule-I, January 2026, where selected candidates did not join or resigned after joining.
• Vacancies created due to GDS Limited Transfer Facility – May 2026 Cycle, irrespective of the 30.06.2026 cut-off date.

Vacancies to be Excluded

The following vacancies should not be captured:

• Posts declared surplus or proposed to be declared surplus.
• Vacancies caused by the death of a GDS where six months have not elapsed, as these are reserved for compassionate engagement.
• Vacancies pending verification reports from:
  • Uttar Pradesh Board (Allahabad Board)
  • West Bengal Council of Rabindra Open School
  • Bihar Open School Education and Examination Board, Patna.

Instructions to CEPT and Circles

• Complete educational board configuration/re-verification within the prescribed schedule.
• CEPT will issue a detailed SOP and schedule for board verification.
• Divisions should carry out vacancy capturing through the GDS Roster Management Module in APT 2.0.
• CEPT is requested to open the portal for vacancy capturing as per the notified timelines.
