Subject: Circulation of OM regarding the proposed three-day nationwide bank strike from 28.09.2026 to 30.09.2026 – reg.

Sir/Madam,

I am directed to refer to the Office Memorandum No. 6/8/2014-IR dated 21.09.2026 (enclosed) received from the Department of Financial Services regarding the proposed three-day nationwide bank strike from 28.09.2026 to 30.09.2026.

The Department of Financial Services has advised all Ministries/Departments to plan and schedule their banking-related work/transactions suitably, wherever feasible, and to complete time-sensitive banking transactions, including payments, deposits, clearances and other activities requiring banking services, in advance so as to avoid any inconvenience during the strike period.

In view of the above, it is requested that necessary instructions may kindly be issued to all DDOs concerned under your jurisdiction to submit the Salary/Pension drawal to the banks positively by 25.09.2026, in accordance with the provisions of the Receipt and Payment Rules, 2022 and FHB, Volume-I, so that the salary may be credited well before the commencement of the proposed strike, subject to completion of the prescribed payment and banking formalities.

Further, all PAOs/DDOs may be advised to plan and schedule their other banking-related activities, including payments, deposits, clearances and cash requirements (drawl and remittance), suitably in advance, wherever feasible, to ensure that there is no disruption of essential financial/banking transactions during the proposed strike period.

The matter may be accorded priority and necessary action may be taken accordingly.

This issues with the approval of the Competent Authority.
