Retirement Age Guidelines:
- The retirement ages for non-regular APS officers are strictly based on Army requirements, emphasizing physical fitness and operational readiness.
- Extensions beyond these ages are not permitted to avoid "ageing" of field formations.
- The guidelines align with earlier directives (e.g., GoI, MoD letter No. F.14(3)/98/D(AG) dated 03 Sep 1998).
- No further updates have been issued post-2018.
- APS personnel must support field formations during war, necessitating mobility and fitness.
- Officers exceeding retirement age may revert to the Department of Posts (DoP) to complete service under DoP terms.
