Geo-fencing in DARPAN Devices for Gramin Dak Sevaks' attendance
After the Branch Post Offices' details are updated on the attendance portal by the Division Nodal Officer. Concerned, GDS has to visit their Division's attendance portal. This registration process may be completed on any mobile device or desktop.
Pre-requisite
Before registration by the GDS on the Division attendance portal following may be ensured:-
- Branch office details have been updated by the Division in the attendance portal.
- GDS must be a valid Aadhar number. His/her name, date of birth, and gender should be the same in Aadhar as in the GDS record.
- Keep a ready recent, scanned photo to upload (only .jpg format and size upto 150 KB) .
Step-1
- Visit the attendance portal of your Divisional office.
- On the left side, click on Employee registration
- Enter the GDS Name as per Aadhaar
- Enter Date of Birth as on Aadhaar
- Enter a valid Mobile Number for OTP
- Click on Generate OTP
After opt validation, you move to step 2, the registration process.
Step 2: Attendance registration by GDS
1. Enter Full Name. - (By default, entered while registration in step-1)
2. Enter Date of Birth (format DD-MM-YYYY) (By default, entered while registration in Step-1)
3. Select Gender. As per the Aadhar card
4. Please provide 12-digit Aadhaar numbers: -
5. Enter Email. Employee's demographic data: Name, Date of Birth, Gender and Aadhaar Number should match with UIDAI data
6. Enter 10-digit Mobile Number (By default entered while registration in step-1) 7. Enter Organization Employee Code- Enter GDS ID
8. Select the name of the Organization. (By default, your Divisional office details)
9. Select Employee Type- Govt
10. Select Division/Unit within Organization – Select your Branch Office Facility ID carefully 11. Select Designation – Branch Post Master
12. Select office location- Branch Post Office
13. Upload scanned/digital picture in ".jpg" format of max file size 150KB. – Ensure the Correct photo may be browsed
14. Please enter the captcha code.
15. Please check the consent box.
16. Please review the form before submission. Before submission, check your details carefully.

Once the user submits the form, an Attendance ID will be sent to them through SMS and mail. The same ID will be displayed on the screen as well.
Step 3: Marking the attendance through the DARPAN Device
Before marking the attendance through face recognition/iris on the Darpan Device, ensure that: -
- The AEBAS mobile app and Face RD app are pushed by IPPB and installed in the DARPAN Device. (If not, contact the Division office for app installation)
- Ensure you have successfully registered on the attendance portal and received the 8-digit attendance ID
- Your registration has been activated by the Divisional office.
- Open the AEBAS app in the DARPAN device and follow the process by entering the details asked by the system. (Refer to PD-4 for details)
- For any help, contact your Divisional SPOC.
- Mark your in and out attendance daily.
