Annual Increment & Allowances
3% Annual Increment
The TRCA rate increases by 3% annually upon completing 12 months of continuous service.
Increments are effective on either July 1st or
January 1st, depending on the date of employment.
Office Maintenance Allowance (For BPMs only)
₹500/- for standard post office premises provided by BPMs.
₹250/- for non-standard or rent-free branch post office premises.

Fixed Stationery Charges
₹25/- per month for ABPMs and Postal Workers.
Cycle Maintenance Allowance
₹180/- per month.
Combined Duty Allowance
BPMs: ₹45/- per day for delivery OR mail handling (max. ₹1170/- per month).
BPMs: ₹90/- per day for delivery AND mail handling (max. ₹2340/- per month).
ABPMs: ₹75/- per day for BPM work (max. ₹1950/- per month).
ABPMs/Postal Workers: ₹45/- per day for another's duties (max. ₹1170/- per month).

Children Education Allowance
₹6,000 per year for each of the two eldest surviving children.
Covers education from Nursery to 12th grade.
Submit a certificate from the Head of the Institution to claim.

Bonus & Retirement Benefits
Diwali Bonus
A bonus equivalent to 60 days' allowance, capped at
₹7,000 per month (approx. ₹13,816 total).
GDS Gratuity
A maximum gratuity of ₹1,50,000 at the revised rate.
Severance Amount
Paid at ₹4,000 for each completed year of service, with a revised maximum of
₹1,50,000 effective from 01.01.2016.
Leave Entitlements
Paid Leave
20 days of paid leave per year (10 days in the first six months and 10 days in the last six months).
This leave cannot be accumulated or carried forward.

Maternity Leave
180 days of maternity leave for female GDS.
Granted by the respective Division Head.

Casual Leave
Up to 5 days per calendar year.
Granted for emergent/personal needs, with a maximum of 3 days at a time.
