ORDER

Subject: Delegation of Storing Authority for Valetistas, Affidavits, and Pleadings in Contesting Proceedings and Regular Litigation where the Secretary (Posta) or DG (Posta) is replaced as respondent.

It has been observed that in the absence of a designated signing authority for legal documents such as Valetistas, Affidavits, and Pleadings in contest proceedings and other litigation has led to procedural difficulties and delays in timely compliance with court requirements where the Secretary (Posta) or Director General (DG) (Posta) is replaced as respondent.

In accordance with the provisions of Order 10XV of the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908, it has been decided by the competent authority in the Department of Posts that the DPG (PG) of each Circle and the concerned Assistant Director General in the Postal Directorate, in cases arising from their respective jurisdiction, shall be delegated the authority to sign Valetistas, Affidavits, and Pleadings in contest and other legal matters where the Secretary (Posta) or DG (Posta) is replaced as respondent.

This delegation is only for the purpose of fulfilling the procedural requirements of the courts and shall not interfere with the personal liability of the contender for substantive disobedience that prevents against the respondent.
